Steele, Alabama — 8/12/07

It was one wicked hot day out there in Steele, Alabama on Sunday, August 12th. Shea set up a nice course for us to run on and everyone got 8 dusty runs before 12:30 (I think the final turnout was eight or nine drivers). The strategy was to condense the 4 heats into 2. This meant you did all 8 runs back-to-back. It worked — no one passed out from heat exhaustion, no cars died, and I managed to get back home to Chattanooga by 3pm to watch the Champ Car race (Note: I don't really care about that race series. The key was to be on the couch, out of the sun, with a cold beer in my hand).
